These day many design showcase site are using wordpress for example CSS galleries, photography portfolio, etc. In this post I share some of wordpress themes to creating a gallery site, so you can built your own gallery site in a few minutes.

For who are new to wordpress, starting your own wordpress theme can be hard and take long time, even if you are already familiar with PHP, cause wordpress has it’s own function for displaying content.

All these theme framework can help you to make your own wordpress theme faster, most of them already have the common structure of wordpress theme, like filename, stylesheet, used wordpress function in layout, etc.

1. Roots

Roots theme is a wordpress theme framework build on HTML5 Boilerplate and Blueprint CSS, on the official page you can see a lot of feature from this framework, and some tips on wordpress, like recommended plugins to use.

When I found this one, currently still in beta version, but you can download it from google code, the purpose to aiming not only for developers, but for designer as well.

Now I’m officially Linux user again, first thing after installing software updates for work, I pimp my desktop to make me more comfortable, they including GTK themes, desktop effect, wallpaper, object dock, global menu and one of them is icon theme, so I browse through the gnome-look.org to find some beatiful icon sets, and this list are the icon sets that I think it’s very cool to used in my Gnome desktop, and yup I love black and white or greyscale themes.

Free WordPress Theme “Superdit WP-CSS Dashed”

This post I only want to share my own wordpress theme, I called it WP-CSS Dashed, the theme is just like the name says, it designed using only CSS without image and in this theme mostly using dashed CSS border style, here’s the screen shot

Theme has no special feature, it just for simple blog (i’m still new to this by the way), maybe you can download it just for exploring the CSS or the WP template it self. As you can see the theme is using two column layout, and 4 color #000, #fff, #f3f3f3 and #ddd, the Twitter and RSS link is hardcoded in the themes if you want to change to link target or maybe you want to delete it, you can open the file sidebar.php, there are div element with class name “mediahead” and “onmedia”, just delete that div. So here’s the download link from this theme, but sorry right now I can’t provide the live example.

Mac Themes For Windows 7 Desktop

Recently I’ve been a Windows 7 user’s, sure Windows 7 have a lot of improvement from XP or Vista, but I want to do my daily job in Mac way, until now i’m not a Mac user yet, and that day will come soon. So I want to make my desktop look like a Mac, here the themes that I’ve been using on my Windows 7 Desktop, and i’m hoping don’t have to install all this theme someday.
