which one do u like ?
i prefer code igniter, will migrate to kohana if i had time tho..
i’m moving from cakephp to codeginiter and now kohana
but still cannot decide which version will fit my needs
Haqi: If you want to learn Kohana PHP 3, check out my tutorials at http://www.dealtaker.com/blog/tag/ko3/
EllisGL: thanks for providing tutorial about kohana specially version 3, since it hard to find the tutorial from the official site
Thanks for big list. It’s very useful.
@EllisGL Thanks for the tutorial.
I use symfony since 6 months and I only begin to be autonomous from documentation…
No problem! =)
Kohana has moved to http://kohanaframework.org/
@Caspar: post updated thank you
“Zend Framework is based on simplicity, object-oriented best practices, corporate friendly licensing, and a rigorously tested agile codebase.”
somehow this let me smile.
Where does such phrases come from?
I have also my own framework (which I’ve been doing on and off for 3 years). I am currently working on its website, but with this huge list of frameworks, it seems almost like a waste of time, despite being different enough to the others.
Nohloh should be NOLOH. NOLOH stands for Not One Line of HTML.
@Asher: i updated the post thanks for the correction
NETTE is the BEST!
@aditia: Oricono => Orinoco
@haqi: I’m working with Nette last 6 months, and I quite like it. Although I didn’t tried others, so I can’t reasonably compare.
Lithium is missing (http://lithify.me).
Creating that list must’ve taken quite some time, nice work
. It kind of scares me to see the vast amount of alternatives available on the framework “market”, especially as I too have written one myself (Mangrove, DM-V-VM oriented framework, with new paradigms for dependency resolution and a templating engine focusing on the polymorphistic nature of object oriented programming). Perhaps a nice idea to create a (probably huge) feature comparison chart?
@Ped7g: the post is corrected, thanks for the info,
@Mike & @Michiel : if you don’t mind, I added your suggested framework to the post
Aditia, not at all, thanks for giving Mangrove little exposure here
imho – I vote for codeigniter/kohana. tried around 20 different frameworks and that’s my choice.
Thsanks
79 PHP Frameworks, what a list.
I’ve tried CI, DooPHP, Kohana3 and Cake.
I prefer DooPHP because of its KISS and speed. For intranet web application i choose kohana3.
@cevarief: I have found some other, the post updated again
This is a great list to bring awareness to PHP frameworks.
I think that it would be beneficial to add code snippet for a “Hello World” program for each framework.
By adding the “Hello World” to this list, it will help developers such as myself to decide whether a framework will really save development time.
yeah … I hope I have time to do that and post it, thanks for your suggestion
PHP Fat-Free Framework
F3::route(‘GET /’,
function() {
echo ‘hello, world!’;
}
);
Groovy post friend, arent you a teacher. I guess you are. Thanks, Jasmine
This is a nice reference, and gave me inspiration to build a similar collection:
http://matrix.include-once.org/framework/simple
http://matrix.include-once.org/framework/shortlist
And I see that’s is a real effort to keep such an extensive list updated. (A few frameworks have meanwhile vanished.)
Can you add my own? FreeFrame PHP Framework
http://taviroquai.sytes.net/Blog/web/
Add your review.
Cheers,
Marco Afonso
hi,
i want to know which is the best one for freelancers and freelance business ?
thanks,
osfreelancer123.
Sorry I don’t really know which one the best, but better you choose a framework based on what project you handle, example: for small medium web project you can choose codeigniter or cakephp, and for large scale project with many features you can choose symfony or zend framework
To add it to the bandwagon, there is phpMF, yet another micro framework, which provides routing through friendly urls.
it is surely
Also, recently released : Orion, the PHP 5 framework. (http://orionphp.org/)
