Magento is the first free ecommerce platform I knew, which have the same popularity with prestashop. The Importance of Application Mockup In Project

Mockup design in a web development project are one of important part, mockup design usually described the placement user interface widget of the application. Most common mockup widget in all application are similar, but it become more specific when applied to variety of device and sometimes it depending to the device OS default widget, for example in smartphone we have list component, keyboard widget, group list, pop up menu.

In a project, sometimes creating mockup is the early stage to finish before the project kick off, the development team / consulting team presenting the application outline using mockup or using only the coded interface.

Experiment Online Writable Book Using Jquery Plugins

Lately I’ve been playing with some jquery plugin, one of them is flipbook jquery plugin. And I have an simple idea to creating an online application that look like a book that can be edited on the fly, which mean do not need admin area to edit the content.

This example only presenting the front end, each page are editable using inline rich text editor, if the content are longer than the page height it will presented using scroller. I’m just thinking maybe this idea can be applied to became wordpress theme, and maybe good for some history writer.

JQuery Image Animation Trick With Mouse Position

In this short tutorial post, I create a simple code in jquery to creating an animation look a like effect, that triggered by mouse cursor position. This trick can be used for animating photo profile, with changing the image source on html element or in this case I change the class value.

Basically this post inspired by Any.DO about page, example in this post is a simpler one, all you need is to detect image offset (width and height), image position relative to windows, document mousemove event to detect mouse position, and the conditional statement to decide which image you want to show.

Useful Sencha Touch Ux Plugins

Sencha Touch are quite nice framework to creating cross platform mobile application, sencha touch provide most common user interface component used in mobile device, however it might not cover all of your need in building mobile application, means sometimes you need third party ux component, for example I need an accordion layout which cannot be found on default component and I have read in this version 2.1 of sencha touch they focused on optimizing performance.

Ext.ux.Cover inherits from Ext.dataview.DataView using the mechanisms from it to handle selections, and putting together data from and an Ext.XTemplate to create the dom elements.

Some Tips In Optimizing Sencha Touch Chart Application

Last month I got a project creating mobile application with charting features, since version 2.1 sencha touch provide integrated charting features for mobile application, so far I know sencha touch provide the most complete charting features for mobile application, it is the easiest because it already integrated with other components with the similar coding style, and sencha touch is my choice for this project.

Behind it simplicity it came with the implication in performance problem, especially for older android device, cause I have to display more than ten different chart, creating component for each chart display will make your app run slow.
